BETSY DUNBAR “ATHLETES” AWARD WINNERS

An Award initiated by the Athletes Committee in 1993, this award of $1,000.00 is presented every year to a Georgia Swimmer who is currently in the year of or the year following their fourth year of collegiate swimming and has participated in at least one Georgia meet each year during College. The individual receiving this award will be judged by the Georgia Swimming Board of Directors on the basis of leadership, performance, and academic achievement in the spirit of the Bill Young Award. To be eligible, the athlete must submit proof of graduation, and a letter of recommendation from each of the following: a college teammate, a college faculty member and their college swim coach.

The award was renamed in 2001 in honor of Betsy Dunbar, a tireless age group volunteer for the LSC for many years.
